Hello and welcome to our Clunes Yoga Class page.
My name is Christopher Potter and I believe EVERYbody can do Yoga and that we just have to be(come) ok with selecting &/or modifying positions & practices to be appropriate for where we're each currently at.
I have been practicing Yoga since 1999, teaching since 2011 and am a registered Level 3 (Senior)
Teacher with Yoga Australia.

Click Here to read more about my approach to Yoga.
These classes will focus on simple, less is more, seasonally relevant practices that are made appropriate for students of all 'levels', shapes & sizes and run in my own unique Breath-based Five Element Hatha Yoga style.
Term 4's Weekly Classes will focus on seasonally appropriate movement & breathing practices that compliment the coldest months of Spring moving into the warmer months of Summer.
Learn about and experience the positive effects on the body, breath & mind of different practices that are relevant to this time & place within the annual seasonal flow.
A Yoga session by definition necessitates a 'perfect' balance between yin & yang, but this is difficult to achieve in a group session of many different constitutions and where each individual is at within a given time & place - so these weekly sessions are designed to be skewed towards a more activity, movement, light, standing, strength & exercise (yang) focus at 6pm (AEST) on Mondays (to start off the week) along with a slowing down, relaxing, moving inward, being closer to the floor and more meditative & restorative (yin) focus of the "end of the week" sessions running 6:30pm (AEST) Thursdays.
BOTH weekly sessions will be kept
simple and easy to follow.
If these classes days, times or location doesn't suit your schedule, please read more here about Private Yoga Tuition which can be done 'live' in-person or online from the comfort of your own home, workplace or accommodation.
Anytime during Term 4, you are welcome to drop-in (either online or in-person) and Pay-As-You-Go at the rate of $25 per session, or preferably lock in a lower price by pre-purchasing a (non-refundable) Class Pass as detailed below.
Your investment will help keep these classes and the Coronation Hall going!
Pre-payment can be (ideally)
made ASAP via Bank Transfer
(please Contact Me for details)
or via Card or Cash payment
on the night of your first class
(if attending in-person).

All Class Passes can be used at EITHER Weekly Class (in-person or online) up until the end of this current Term - $ave money and commit yourself to a more regular practice.
Class Passes are designed to encourage a more beneficially consistent attendance - as one can easily find any excuse to not attend but in most cases (other than external events outside our control) attending anyway and practising appropriately to our condition usually always makes us feel better - remember you can always join us online if you believe you are contagious. Over time it's this consistence of "practicing anyway" that fortifies our inner reserves to better withstands the many ups & downs of life the fast lane and is the true long-term benefit of 'doing Yoga'.
Additional classes may be attended at the lower drop-in rate of your pre-purchased pass within this same term. e.g. if you used up a 10 WEEK Class Pass because you attended multiple weekly classes in the first few weeks, you'd pay just +$18 per any extra session attended within this same term.
It's always nicer to have and bring your own mat or for each practice, but there are spare mats along with all other props for use available at the venue.
Please Contact Me if you have any questions / would like to pre-purchase a Class Pass / to receive a quote of a specific number of classes not mentioned above.

"I have had a number of Yoga teachers over the years - both in Australia and overseas - but Chris has trumped them all.
Apart from his undoubted knowledge and being an excellent, caring and considerate teacher, his explaination for a particular routine being done (for instance, based on the Season) is more than instructive.
I have most certainly benefited from my classes with Chris (in my case, fortunately, 1:1) - and would thoroughly recommend him to anyone wishing to 'do' Yoga the correct and beneficial way."
